...is a personal blog that describes travel experiences and recommended accommodations where we have traveled in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia... -TRAVELS & CHECK-IN HOTELS-

The gay couple's love stories are at Sai Gon hotels

Our budget allows us only 30 usd per night for short term or long term accomodations. Our challenge is to find the best room for us at that amount. We are quite good at that. We are almost always satisfied with our choice. So we would like to recommend our list of hotels that we have stayed at or visited.

Our requirements are: 1-around 30 USD/night, 2-popular area, 3-cleanliness, 4-double bed and comfortable bed, 5-quiet room, 6-free wifi, 7-cable television, 8-breakfast included, washing machine and swimming pool or gym room (not necessary). If you need any of the above requirements, you can check out the recommended accomodations below.

We stayed at Sen Saigon Hotel a few days after our Cambodia trip (Siem Reap and Sihanoukville) and before we moved to An Nhien Homestay. The hotel is in central near Bui Vien street where you will find many tourists. We had been traveling 12 hours by bus from Sihanoukville city Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam. It is a long trip so we booked this hotel because the price is right and the bus stop is near by. It was a perfect location after our long travel day. The room is fine for short rest of a few days but the hotel did not meet all our requirements. We always remember the reception said "Did you eat the key?" in front of us. LOL

We stayed at An Nhien Homestay on 3 different occasions in different rooms. It is the cheapest hotel where we stayed in Ho Chi Minh. We had stayed 3 days the first time. Then we stayed another 2 months between our Nha Trang trip and Da Lat trip in Vietnam. The thing I would like to say about this hotel is that we felt as we stay at home because there is no reception and security. The hotel is located in Binh Thanh District where there are some universities so it is convenient to find restaurants and stores. We however prefer to cook at room. We also have a few funny memories about disagreements we had. I remember one time I threw all my recently purchased clothes on the floor during an argument and another time when Robert actually threw me out of the room because I had been mean to him. LOL

We stayed Eden Garden Hotel for 3 days after our Hoi An trip and before we moved to Mui Ne beach Vietnam. The hotel is fine. The hotel however is located on Bui Vien street where it is busy every night with music at bars and many tourists so it was difficult to sleep after 10 pm. It was nice because the hotel upgrated us from standard double room to deluxe family room. Robert went out for 6 hours once dduring our stay at this hotel. He, on occasion, takes 6 hours breaks when we have some communication challenges. It could be because we are one young asian and one old white...LOL

We stayed at Seven Thao Dien Apartment 2 times in the same room before and after our Bali trip. Seven Thao Dien Apartment is located in District 2. It is separated from central by the Sai Gon brigde. Because expacts and many rich locals live in District 2, hotels are generally expensive. We were lucky to book Seven Thao Dien Apartment at 31 usd per night. There are convenient shops around, one local market where we buy fruit and one good BBQ buffet restaurant just 10 minutes walk away. You can enjoy many night bars on Thao Dien street such as Buddha Bar, Saigon Outcast...Just book Grabbike to get there and have nice drinks.

Golden Sands Service Apartment is perfect for us. It is located central near central, convenient to many tourist places such as the Saigon Zoo, Ho Chi Minh city Post Office, Independence Palace...and the USA Embassy, the French Embassy and the Hard Rock Coffee are all within walking distance. We stayed here one month after we had stayed in Bangkok Thailand one month and another 3 weeks after we celebrated Chinese New Year in Vung Tau beach  for one week. Our time together is more and more without disagreements since our relationship is now over 2 years in duration so we understand each other much better. Robert tried to steal bottle of water from hotel. It was mistake. LOL.

Blue Diamond Hotel is the first hotel where we booked in Ho Chi Minh city in March 2017. We stayed in this hotel for a few days then we traveled to Bangkok for Songkran in April. The hotel is located in central and they serve good breakfast. The hotel costs 41 usd per night. Why Robert booked this hotel? We had met in Bangkok end of November 2016.  We had traveled together for one month so we decided to get to know one another better. Robert came back to Asia after 3 months and our relationship began.

We utilize a Booking company because they are clear about the rate and included VAT fee before you consider reserving the room. We receive commissions  that support our Youtube vlog channel and help maintain the blog.

Tip: Book through this BOOKING link to get the great values. My experience demonstrates that the room rate sometime changes  depending on the season and how far in advance you book. Also, they limit the time for free cancellation if you change your travel plans. Please check the exchange rate clearly with USD before you reserve the room.

Thank you for your support and we hope that the information will be usefull for you. We will update any important and relevant news for you in the future.
